Dynegy made a donation to the Jasper County Fair 4H Building Project. The check was presented at the Jasper County Fairgrounds where the 4H Show ring and barn use to be. The buildings have been demolished to make way for the building of the new facilities.
Ste. Marie and Newton Elementary Open Houses
The Newton Lady Eagles faced Oblong Jr. High and the St. Anthony Bullpups at the Oblong Round Robin. The Lady Eagles shutout Oblong in three innings with 15 runs. The Lady Eagles scored nine in the first inning, two in the second, and four in the third with seven hits.
Chapter FN of the P.E.O. Sisterhood met August 13 at the first Presbyterian Church. Natasha Russell was presented a check for $1300 from the Program for Continuing Education grant from the sisterhood.
