A telephone scam has been reported to the City of Newton. Residents have reported that someone claiming to be from the City has called claiming the city has overcharged residents and is apologizing. We were informed last night (August 10th) that one of our employees has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual worked in the Main Bank in Newton and was not in a high contact area. The Jasper County Health Department has already reached out to those individuals who were in close
