“All Things Come to an End, So Make it Count”
So… here we are… down to the last game of the season which happens to be the end of high school football for our seniors.
As student athletes, all of you have been faced with adversity related to this COVID pandemic…unfortunate set-backs that have impacted your education, extracurricular activities, and your lives in general.
Original fall football seasons were once cancelled, game condensed and rescheduled…a time of uncertainty that presented its challenges…you will continue facing many more challenges within your life… things will get taken away from you… BUT…that’s also part of life…that we have to learn to respect.
Tonight’s contest is between the Indians and the EAGLES…this symoolizes a contest much greater than most of you even realize…Indians are viewed as Powerful Warriors…whereas EAGLES are honored with great care and shown respect… this EAGLE TEAM represents honesty, truth, strength, courage, wisdom, and POWER!!!
Don’t… ever underestimate your opponent…always prepare to outperform your competition…never let your guard down…sacrifices need to be made…fight hard, give it MORE than you’ve got…be the DIFFERENCE MAKER…sacrifice yourself for your TEAM, as you know your TEAM will do the same for you!
The bottom line is…it doesn’t matter how strong or how weak these Indians are…Tonight IS THE END…your final HOORAH! Leave your legacy behind and the everlasting impression…by respecting your opponent…while DESTROYING THEM!
The above is a segment from the final pre-game speech by Brian Muska to the 2021 Newton Eagles Varsity football team.
The 2021 Eagles went 5-1 on the season, due to COVID there was not a full season or post-season play.
