The 2022 Veteran’s Day program began with a performance by the Newton Community High School band. The Invocation was given by Father Pawel Luczak Parochial Vicar St. Thomas Church. The Star Spangled Banner was sung by Morgan Buerster, Abbie Fitzmaurice, and Charlotte Schackmann.The Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Jasper County Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Elise Wright performed America the Bueatiful and God Bless America. The speaker for the event was Ryan Higginbotham, Specialist 2nd.504th Parachute Infantry Regiment 82nd Airborne Division. This was followed by the “Firing of the Volleys” by Jasper County Veterans and Taps by Steve Hardwick.
The event ended with the Benediction by Minister Eric Bridges from Latona Church of Christ. Chad Miller was the Master of Ceremonies.
