
The Newton Rotary Club heard from Chris Himelick (left), General Manager of Skyline Steel in Newton on July 16. He related the history of his company from its years as Frichtl Welding to its purchase by NuCor in 2012. It is one of eleven facilities in the U.S., and currently employs 28 team members, with an average length of employment there between 20 and 25 years. They produce sheet metal fabrications, rolled pipe, and extensively test their welds, making metal components for construction. Chairperson was Rotarian Louis Ochs (right).
