The Newton Lady Eagles defeated the Cumberland Middle School Lady Raiders with a final score of 8-2. The Raiders began the scoring with one run in the first and in the second, however, the Lady Eagles took control in the second with four runs, adding three in the third and one in the fourth. Cumberland had five errors to the Lady Eagles’ one.
Scoring for the Lady Eagles include: Macy Barthelemy and Sally Mahaffey with two each. Avery Mulvey, Bailee Frichtl, Allie Stanley, and Addy O’Dell each had one run.
Winning pitcher was Lexie Grove.
