The 92nd annual Brown Reunion, descendants of John and Elizabeth Brown, was held Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the Brown Park south of Bogota, IL. Our pavilion allowed us to be out of the sun, sometimes feeling a little breeze and a small shower of rain about 3:00 with the temperature about 90 degrees.. Around 12:30 P.M. We sang “Come Home It’s Supper Time”. Tim Dion lead us in prayer before our meal. All plates were filled with a variety of food. After lunch we sang “The Little Brown Church in the Wildwood”. Our songs were led by Lori Dion.
Our president gave the gold “Lincoln” dollars to the following people: oldest female: Imogene Kerr, 104 yrs.; oldest male: Melvin Birk, 88 yrs.; youngest: Carly Gray, 12 yrs.; traveled the farthest: Laila Gray, St. Louis, MO.; and largest family present: Dorthy Brown.
This year we gave a person who turned 100 yrs., the same year of the reunion, a bouquet of a dozen roses. This year they were given to Dorthy Brown. We presented roses to Imogene Kerr in 2022 when she was 100 yrs. and attended the Brown Reunion. We had two (2) centenarians present.
The election of officers resulted in the retention of the three existing officers: President, Thomas H. Brown; Vice-President, Jenny (Bridges) Stadge and Secretary-Treasurer, Faye A. Brown.
Tom Brown has been mowing and maintaining the park.
The porta pot was again rented from Snearley’s, Martinsville, IL.

Next year the 93rd Reunion will be on August 15, 2027 (third Sunday in August) at the Brown Park.
Looking forward to seeing everyone and also some new relatives next year. Please bring your families, friends, food, tableware, lawn chairs, pictures to share and any updates for the family tree, (lunch starts around 12:30 P.M.). Water, tea and lemonade will be furnished.
