Eagles Keep Rolling with Three More Wins, Streak at Six

The Newton Eagles boys’ soccer team is finding its stride early this season, putting together an impressive run of victories that has them sitting at 8-1-0 overall and riding a six-game winning streak after a strong week of play.

On September 4, Newton traveled to Staunton and battled their way to a 3-2 road win over the Bulldogs. Brock Anderson led the attack with a pair of goals, while Oliver Ochs added another. Luke Farley was key in distribution, assisting on all three Eagle scores to help Newton improve to 6-1-0.

Two days later, the Eagles returned home and kept their momentum rolling with a dominant 5-0 shutout over Charleston. Anderson once again proved unstoppable, recording a hat trick, while Farley and Daniel Falcioni each found the net as well. Henry Will had a standout game with three assists, while Farley and Lance Volk each chipped in one. On the defensive end, Wade Ochs, Brady Bergbower, Cylas Dickerson, Brett Bower, and goalkeeper Curtis Weber anchored the back line for the team’s third clean sheet of the year.

The Eagles capped off the week on September 9 with a statement win, blanking a talented Olney squad 2-0 in their conference opener. Henry Will and Evan Holder provided the scoring, both assisted by Farley, who continues to be a catalyst in the attack. Weber came up big once again in net, registering four critical saves, while the defense held strong to secure its fourth shutout of the season.

With balanced scoring, a stingy defense, and consistent goalkeeping, Newton has quickly established itself as one of the teams to watch this fall. The Eagles will look to keep the streak alive as they continue conference play in the coming weeks.
