Newton Lady Eagles Crowned LIC Co-Conference Champions

The Newton Lady Eagles volleyball team finished their regular season in style Thursday night, October 23, defeating Paris in straight sets across all three levels to claim the LIC Co-Conference Championship.

The freshman squad opened the evening with a solid 25-17, 25-20 victory, followed by a dominant 25-17, 25-8 win from the junior varsity team.

Varsity capped off the night with an impressive 25-16, 25-19 triumph, securing Newton’s share of the conference title and improving their record to 20-15 on the season.

The Lady Eagles now turn their focus to postseason play. They’ll travel to McLeansboro on Monday, October 28, for the opening round of the Regional Tournament, where they’ll take on Hamilton County (McLeansboro) at 7:30 p.m.
