Following is a summary of minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Education of Jasper County
Community Unit School District No. 1 held on Monday, October 20 th , 2025 in the office of the Board of
Education. Board members present were Mr. Brady Shull, Mr. David Blecha, Mrs. Jackie Schackmann,
Mrs. Mandy Rieman, Mr. Evan Semple and Mrs. Nichole Mulvey. Board members absent were Mrs.
Mandi Utley.
All votes are considered unanimous unless otherwise noted.
Mandy Rieman called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Approval to Adopt the Agenda.
Mandy asked for Recognition of Guests and Public Comments. There were none.
The District received one FOIA Request from Steve Watts requesting the names, job roles, email
addresses, assignments and current salary.
Approval of Consent Agenda as presented.

Declare 23 student desks, 14 cloth chairs, 1 Tech desk, 1 metal shelf, 1 round office table, 1 two-drawer
file cabinet and 3 office chairs at NE as Surplus.
Under the Superintendent’s Report, Mrs. Jennifer Bales discussed the multi-tiered systems of support
for students in the Jasper County School District with a focus on academic and behavioral supports. The
District is awaiting the release of the Illinois School Report Card for the 2024-2025 School Year. This
information will be released by the State of Illinois at the end of the month.
Approval to appoint Mandy Rieman as the IASB Delegate for the Joint Annual Conference.
Approval of the FY 26 FFA Alumni Agreement with JCCU#1 for the 3 Circles Grant.
Approval to apply for the FY 26 State Maintenance Grant.
Approval to enter executive session at 6:59 p.m. for 1.5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) – To Consider Information
Regarding Appointment, Employment, Compensation, Performance or Dismissal of Individual.
Approval to return to open session at 7:12 p.m.
Approval to accept the resignation from Josey Hyatt as the JCJH School Counselor effective December
31, 2025.
Approval to accept the resignation from Amy McDonald as a Newton Elementary Paraprofessional
effective October 17th, 2025.
Approval to hire Grace Hartrich as the 7 th Grade JCJH Volleyball Coach.
Approval of a maternity leave of absence from Shelby Lohman, JCJH Paraprofessional, from January 5,
2026 to March 31, 2026.
Approval to for a JCJH/NCHS Grades 7-9 School Counselor and a District Paraprofessional.

2025 at 6:30 p.m. at the Board of Education Office located at 1401 Clayton Avenue.
