
Larry Ray Caton, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at
2:42 AM at Advent Health Hospital, in Sebring, Florida. Larry was born on
March 2, 1948 at 10:48 am at Brokahr Hospital, Normal, Illinois. He was the son on Raymond Everett Caton and Fern Marie Mercier Caton.
Larry went to college for undergrad at Illinois Wesleyan and got his masters at Illinois State before going into the Army. He was inducted into the Army Sept 29, 1970, at age 22. He was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington – US Air Control Group – as a Lieutenant – Weapons- Infantry. During two years of his military service, June 1971 to March 1972, Larrry trained to play Hand-Ball to compete in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany. After being in the service, Larry was a teacher and guidance instructor at three different places in Sebring, Florida.

Larry Ray Caton of Normal, Illinois, married Patricia Jean Faltemier two times. The 1st time was August 23, 1983; this was a garden wedding by a pond on Hield Road in Melbourne, Florida. The 2nd time Larry and Patty got married was two years later in Patty’s hometown of Sainte Marie, Illinois on July 6, 1985.
Larry is survived by his wife, Patty, who lives in Sebring, Florida, two sons, Tyler and wife Jazmin who live in Benbrook, Texas, and Spencer and wife, Allison, who live in Middleburg, Florida, and two granddaughters, ages 8 and 6 and one grandson, age 4, from Tyler and Jazmin.
Besides spending time with his family, Larry enjoyed owning and driving his corvettes, playing golf and teaching his sons, Tyler and Spencer, to play golf, driving his motorboat around the lake where he lived, cooking and grilling,
He had a passion for cross-word puzzles – Larry worked a cross-word puzzle almost every day of his life, and he also had a passion for watching sports on TV.
