Annette Rose Rubsam, 93, of Owensboro

Annette Rose Rubsam, 93, of Owensboro Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at
her home surrounded by family. The daughter of John and Irma (Hart) Fisher, she was born in
Casey, Illinois, on April 27, 1932. She graduated, with honors, from Oblong High School. On
May 26, 1951, she married James E. Rubsam at St. Valentine’s Catholic Church in the
community of the Bend, in southern Illinois. Annie and “Dutch” set up their household in
Newton, Illinois and eventually moved their family to Owensboro in 1969.They had seven
children and sixty-eight years together. Staying busy raising her children, Annette was a prolific
& talented seamstress, and an avid quilter. She started each day by reading her local paper, and
then with coffee cup in hand, solved the crossword puzzle. A nature lover, she had a wildflower
garden and enjoyed bird watching.
Annette was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Rubsam in 2019; her son, William
Joseph “Bill” Rubsam in 2014, and her brother, Bruce Allen Fisher in 2022.
Those left to cherish her memory include: six children, Michael Rubsam of Goodlettsville, TN,
Jeanne McGinnis (Terence) of Evansville, IN, Kathleen Peek (Monty) of Paducah, KY, Ann Horn
(Dennis) of Shelbyville, KY, Rosemarie Skaggs (Donnie) of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Joseph Rubsam
also of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren, Jason (Julie), Justin, Nick (Sara), Katie Sokeland
(Nicholas), Evan McGinnis, Sara Peek (Evan Murphy), Ryan Peek, Maria McComas, John Paul
Horn, Rachel Skaggs, (David Carlson), Hannah Guthrie (Timothy), Jessica Wettstain (Trent),
Joseph Eric (Leslie) and Michael Aaron; six great-grandchildren, Ash, Kannan, Kinleigh, Kason,
Henry and Michael Ann Marie; special friends and caregivers, Carolyn S. Brown, Torie Ann
Alani Aleaga, Rita Hamilton, Lydonna Howard and Crystal Carwile.
The funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Thursday, December 11 at Immaculate Catholic Church.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 until 7:00 pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
