Hydi Bierman, daughter of Doug Bierman and Marcus and Brandy Brooks, will be attending Lincoln Trail College as a member of the volleyball team. During her time at NCHS, Hydi was active in Volleyball, Softball, Track, Integrity Elite Volleyball, Club 217 Volleyball, FBLA, CYO, Math and Science Club, Spanish Club
What made you decide this school was the best fit for you?
I believe this school is the best fit for me as it will help me to start my future goals in life and prepare me for my career. The great coaching staff and players also made my decision really easy.
How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life?
The teaching staff and college level classes have had a major impact on helping me to prepare myself for the next step. Having higher level classes has taught me how to balance school and sports at the same time.
What are at least two life lessons you have learned from sports?
Two life lessons that sports have taught me is that you can’t control others and always focus on the future don’t get stuck on the past. Control what you can control and always be ready for the unexpected.
How have your coaches (and assistant coaches) helped prepare you to play at a collegiate level?
Many tough and challenging drills have really gotten me ready and prepared me for the collegiate level. The tough coaching has also made a major impact for me on what to expect for next season.
What will you miss the most next year about not being at NCHS?
Not having my teammates along side of me every point of the game will definitely be what I miss the most next year. All the memories I’ve made with my friends and teammates will be something I take with me as I enter into my next season.
