NEWTON, Ill. — Bargain hunters and community supporters alike will have an opportunity to find great deals while supporting a local school when St. Thomas hosts its Gigantic Garage Sale next month.
The multi-day sale will take place April 16–18 at the St. Thomas Parish Center in Newton. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m. each day, with shopping continuing until 6:00 p.m. on April 16 and 17, and wrapping up at 11:00 a.m. on April 18.
Organizers say shoppers can expect a wide variety of items, including gently used seasonal clothing, housewares, home décor, shoes, toys, books, bedding, curtains, purses, belts, backpacks, and more. Furniture may also be available with prior approval. Throughout the event, special deals will be announced during the sale, giving shoppers even more chances to score a bargain.
Community members who would like to contribute items can drop off donations on Monday, April 12, and Tuesday, April 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the parish center.
Organizers note that some items cannot be accepted, including undergarments, girls’ and ladies’ swimwear, motor oils, lawn and garden chemicals, paint or spray paint, lawn and garden tools, outdated electronics, printers, monitors, keyboards, and reference book sets.
Proceeds from the garage sale will benefit St. Thomas School’s Technology and Improvement Fund, helping support upgrades and improvements for students and classrooms.
Residents are encouraged to stop by, browse the selection, and support a good cause while discovering a few hidden treasures along the way.
