Rose A. Winter to Celebrate 90th Birthday

Rose A. Winter will be celebrating her 90th birthday on July 6, 2019 at the Plainfield Church near Rose Hill, Illinois, from 2p.m.-4p.m. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome. No gifts are requested, but photographs and greetings would be appreciated.

Rose was born on July 15, 1929 to Carl and Edna (Cummins) Kibler of rural Newton, Illinois. On September 12, 1948, Rose was married to Lyle Hunt Winter, the son of Irl and Lenna Pearl (Hunt) Winter of Rose Hill. In addition to her role as full-time mother and farm hand, Rose was well known for her successful cake decorating business which she operated from her home. After retiring, Rose became an avid china painter, was a member of the Jasper County China Guild, and enjoyed traveling with her husband. She also served as an officer of the Jasper County Historical Society, and for a number of years as an election judge for the Rose Hill polling place.

Rose and her late husband, Lyle, are the parents of three children, Janett Winter-Black, (Mattoon); Michael Winter (rural Newton); and Alan Winter, (wife Lori, rural Newton). She also has seven grandchildren: Jason Black (Milwaukee, Wisconsin); Suzanne Black (Mattoon); Steven Winter (fiancée Courtney Wilson of Newton); Kristen Rake (husband Jeff of rural Hidalgo); Ashley Winter (Virginia); Rachel Barlow, (husband Stuart of Texas); and Clayton Winter (fiancée Amanda Parga of Springfield), and seven great-grandchildren: Isaac Rake, William Norman, Caleb Rake, Ace Barlow, and Stevie Barlow, Grayson Winter, and Jackson Winter.
