Members of the Ann Crooker St. Clair Chapter, NSDAR, presented the Jasper County Museum with a NexTrex bench on May 7, 2026, following a recycling effort led by the chapter’s Conservation Committee.
The group collected more than 2,000 pounds of plastic bags, earning two benches through the NexTrex recycling program. The main goal was to keep plastic bags out of landfills, with the benches serving as an added benefit.
A second bench was presented last fall to Effingham County for its museum lawn.
“When looking for locations to donate the bench, we immediately thought of the museums as they hold such historical significance in each community,” said Brenda Wagy, Conservation Chair. “The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution’s mission is to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism. The museum’s historic nature made it a great fit for our project.”
