Betty Jean Ebbert, age 95, of rural Gila, Illinois, passed away at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, in Mattoon, Illinois.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Island Creek Cemetery in rural Jasper County, Illinois. Visitation will be held for 1 hour (1:00-2:00 PM) at the cemetery prior to the service. In loving memory of Betty, memorials may be made to the Island Creek Cemetery Fund. Arrangements under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Betty Jean was born on September 9, 1931, in Hidalgo, Illinois, the daughter of William and Florence (Oaks) Finn. She married Warren G. “Doc” Ebbert on April 8, 1950, in Newton, Illinois, and he preceded her in passing on May 21, 2018.
Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. For many years she worked alongside her husband on their dairy farm south of Gila, in Jasper County, Illinois. She enjoyed cooking and baking.
Betty is survived by-
Children – Steve (Brenda) Ebbert of Newton, Illinois; Terry (Beverly) Ebbert of Newton, Illinois; Scott (Pamela) Ebbert of Charleston, Illinois and Todd (Celia) Ebbert of Effingham, Illinois
Grandchildren – Chad Ebbert of Champaign, Illinois, Byron Ebbert of Mahomet, Illinois, Levi (Kristina) Ebbert of Carterville, Illinois, Austin Ebbert of Champaign, Illinois, Laine Ebbert of Collinsville, Illinois and Haley (Noah) Lohman of Bloomington, Illinois
Great Grandchildren – Thea Ebbert, Maxine Ebbert, Elliot Lohman and Emery Lohman
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Nate Ebbert and siblings
Ed Finn, Orville Finn, Charlie Finn, Bill Finn, Fred Finn and Edna Kibler.
