Catherine M. Bower age 82, of Newton, Illinois passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, Illinois.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 12, 2026, at Riverside Cemetery, Newton, Illinois with Pastor Tom Matson officiating. Interment will follow the services in Riverside Cemetery.

Catherine was born on April 6, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of John and Emma (Balnis) Regovic. On May 10, 1994, Catherine married Larry G. Bower. He survives.
For many years, Catherine worked at United Technologies in Newton. She later worked at Casey’s until her retirement. In her free time, Catherine enjoyed collecting porcelain Indian dolls and all things Elvis. She loved Elvis, his music and loved hunting for the memorabilia. She also enjoyed scratch-off lottery tickets and seemed to have knack for winning.
Catherine will be loved and remembered her husband of thirty-two years, Larry G. Bower of Newton; four sons, Matthew Huddleston of Indianapolis, John James Huddleston of Indianapolis, Keith Huddleston of Florida and Daniel Huddleston of Ridge Farm, Illinois; step-children, Sandy McKee of Godfrey, IL, Daniel Bower of Springville, IN and Colin Bower of Indianapolis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Mitchell of Chicago; and nephew, David Lynch of Chicago.
Her parents and siblings, John Balnis, Leroy Regovic, James Regovic, Lawrence Regovic, Peter Regovic, Phyllis Pesack and Margaret Donegan preceded her in death.
