On June 24, 2019, The Maxine E. Spitler Foundation awarded grants to 13 organizations from the Illinois counties of Jasper and Lawrence. During the ceremony, held at the Sunrise Youth Center and Community Building located in Newton, Illinois, a total of $24,007.09 was given to the various organizations chosen to receive funding for their projects. This year the requests for funding on all grant applications received exceeded $44,500.00 for numerous projects.
