Jasper County Fair Talent Show

The Jasper County Talent Show was held Tuesday night at the Fairgrounds. The Master of Ceremonies for the event was Steve Hardwick. There were five acts in the Junior Division and two in the Senior Division.
Starting off the Junior Division was Brinlyn Beam. She is 10 years old and is the daughter of Cody and Sara Beam. Brinlyn is a 5th grader at Newton Elementary School. She enjoys singing, jumping on the trampoline, and watching Youtube. She will be performing the song “Moment of Truth” by CYN.
The second act was Isaac Street age 12 and Charlotte Schackmann age 11. Isaac is the son of Shad and Marcia Street. Isaac is a 7th grader at Jasper County Junior High and is in chorus, basketball, track, and cross country.
Charlotte is the daughter of Kyle and Susanne Schackmann. She is also a 7th grader at Jasper County Junior High and is involved in band, track, percussion band, chorus, and cheerleading.
They performed the song “Shallow” from the movie A Star is Born.
The third contestant was Anna Bierman age 9. Anna is the daughter of Brian and Karen Bierman. She is a 4th grader at St. Thomas School. Anna enjoys singing, reading and Karate. She performed the song. “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
The fourth contestant was Emily Baltzell. She is the daughter of Hank and Jamee Baltzell. Emily is 14 years old and will be a freshman at Newton Community High School. Her interests include playing piano, cheerleading, color guard, student council, and being in the NCHS Chorus. She will be performing “Comfortable” by Alessia Cara.
The final contestant of the Junior division was Lucy Bierman. She is the daughter of Ben and Jill Bierman. Lucy is ten years old and is in the 6th grade at St. Thomas School. Lucy will be performing the song, “I Feel Better When I’m Dancing” by the artist Megan Trainer.
The first contestants of the Senior Division is a duet snag by Lexi Marshall and Joel Hasselbring. Lexi is the daughter of Chad and Jennifer Marshall and is 17 years old. She is a senior at NCHS and enjoys performing in the Star Spangled Banner Club, color guard, musical, camping, and kayaking as well as being a member of the Praise band at church.
Joel is 20 years old and is employed at Evapco. He enjoys playing guitar, bass guitar, piano, and singing in the Praise band at his church. They will be performing “You are the Reason” by Calum Scott.
The second performance in the Senior Division was Lily Bierman and Jenna Zumbahlen. Lily age 15 is the daughter Ben and Jill Bierman. She is a sophomore at NCHS and enjoys singing, color guard, chorus, musical, and cheerleading. Jenna is 17 years old and the daughter of Amanda and Jeff Zumbahlen. She is a senior at NCHS and enjoys cheerleading, singing, and chorus. Jenna is a member of the Star Spangled Banner Club and is employed at Steve Jones Hardware in Newton. They are performing the song “Because of You” by Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson.
Brianne and Emma Duncan performed while the judges scores were tallied. Bri won the senior division last year and Emma the junior division.
