Band Members Visit Rotary to Talk about Disney Trip

On January 14, the Newton Rotary Club had an interesting and informative visit from three Newton High School students who traveled with the Newton Marching Eagles to Disney World in Florida in November 2019. Four busloads of students and chaperones made the six-day trip, which was packed with exciting activities, which included the Disney Magic Kingdom and Universal Studios. The trip culminated in the Eagles marching down Main Street USA at Disney World in the big parade. They described how each band member had to save money for the trip, which is held every four years. They have countless hours of practice and performances including three intensive week-long summer sessions, and also have to submit an audition video and be judged before acceptance to march in the Main Street USA parade.
