City of Newton Invitation to Bid for Refuse and Waste Management Program

Invitation to Bid

The CITY OF NEWTON, ILLINOIS, seeks qualified bids for their refuse and waste
management program. The City desires to enter into a five-year contract with an option, the
City’s option, to extend the contract.

The CITY OF NEWTON estimates there are currently up to 1800 residential and 190 non-
residential customers to be served.

Applicants and their bids shall meet the requirements set forth in Section 17 of the City Code
Book of Ordinances. Copies can be made available at the Office of the City Clerk or can be
viewed online at www.cityofnewtonil.com.

Sealed bids will be received in the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 108 N. Van Buren,
Newton, Illinois 62448, until March 17 th 2020 at 4:00 p.m. central time and will be opened in the
City Hall meeting room at that time.
Sealed bids shall be in a sealed envelope, bearing on the outside, the name and address of the
contractor, and plainly marked “Waste Management Program Bid”.
Sealed bids shall include:
 Proposed monthly rates that reflect residential and non-residential pricing.
 Itemized list of equipment available and any incidentals necessary to complete said work
in accordance with Section 17 of the City Code Book of Ordinances.
 Proposed day(s) of the week for pick-up.
 References.

The City reserves the right to accept or reject all bids with or without cause.
