Past Masters and guests were honored at a dinner held at the Newton Lodge
recently. Larry Brinson, currently serving as Master of Newton Lodge, asked Don
Goupil, a Past Master from Flat Rock to ask the blessing, and then led the pledge
of allegiance to the flag. Larry asked each Past Master to stand and introduce
himself and the Lodge he served as Master.
He then called on Chad Miller to come to the podium and presented him a
check for $4,00.00 for the “Lincolns Place” all inclusive playground equipment. The
check is from the Grand Lodge program called Illinois Masonic Childrens
Assistance Program or IMCAP. Miller thanked the lodge for thier support and went
on to explain that Lincolns Place will be an area designed for children of all
abilities to play together. Construction should begin this spring.
