The Jasper County Board through the Jasper County Animal Control committee is now accepting applications for the position of Animal Control Officer. This is considered a part-time position that requires an individual to be on-call outside of normal business hours. Applications can be picked up from and returned to the Jasper County Clerk and Recorders office during normal business hours. (Please use the drive up window connected to the Treasurer’s Office) Applications will be accepted through May 22, 2020. Please refer to the information below:
Jasper County Animal Control
EXPERIENCE: Responsible experience working with and caring for animals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Self-motivated and organized individuals. Sound judgment and decision making capabilities. Basic computer skills and writing skills. A valid Illinois drivers license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend instructions. Ability to communicate with others. Ability to get along with others in a work environment and accept direction and criticism.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use coordinated hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and or move animals of all sizes. Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception. While performing the duties of the job, the employee works in outside weather conditions.
