
The Jasper County Health Department received notice of one new positive case of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). A female in her 50’s is recovering on home isolation.
Jasper County Health Department is following up with close contacts of the individuals. If you believe you have been exposed to an active case of COVID-19, call the health department or your personal health care provider.
As we see an increase in the number of cases within the community, it is important to monitor yourself for COVID symptoms which include fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea. If you are exhibiting any of these symptoms, please contact your healthcare provider for further guidance.
We strongly urge residents to take steps to minimize the risk of contracting COVID-19 by wearing a face covering, following social distancing guidelines of 6 feet, washing hands frequently, and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.
