Sandra Ann “Sandi” Lewis, age 79, of Newton, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 7, 2020.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Sandra will be held at 3:00 PM – Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Chris Parr officiating. Burial will be in the Brooks Cemetery in rural Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 PM – Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at the funeral home.

Sandra “Sandi” was born on December 26, 1940, in Hartford, Kentucky the daughter of Harry and Mildred Brooks. She married Robert Lewis on December 26, 1982, and he preceded her in death on October 25, 2010.
Sandi graduated from Newton Community High School in 1959. She was employed at E.R. Moore Company in Newton for many years, before retiring in 2006. She went on to serve as a loving caretaker for her mother and her husband.
Sandi was a member of Falmouth United Methodist Church. Sandi loved living on her family farm, and was always happy to have friends and family visit. Her granddaughters were her greatest joy, and she embraced every opportunity to encourage and support them. She loved to spoil them with their favorite treats and small mementos, and they spent many hours in the kitchen together, baking and squeezing countless lemons to make fresh lemonade. Sandra enjoyed reading, collecting recipes, watching her favorite cooking shows, and spending time with her loved ones. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Sandi is survived by her son, Alex (Michele) Embry, of Woodstock, Illinois; two granddaughters, Kalyn
and Audrey Embry, of Woodstock, Illinois; a brother, James (LaDonna) Embry, of Clarksville, Tennessee; and a sister, Carolyn (Larry) Crowe, of Moneta, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
