The Newton Rotary in partnership with JCCU1 and JEDI will be hosting a porkburger fundraiser on Friday, September 18th and each Friday throughout September from 5-7pm in the North parking lot of the high school.
The entities will be joining with students participating in sports and clubs offering a chance to give back to the community through service.
The proceeds from this event will be used to offset the hardships encountered by businesses during COVID. The need for assistance came to the forefront when Vista (The Newton Power Plant) offered grants for this same purpose.) Ten businesses in the community were awarded grants, however, many, many more applied.
During this time when so many of our hometown traditions have been cancelled or postponed, the Rotary porkburger offers a little taste of the Friday nights we know and love.
