Michl’s Walk-Off Seals The Deal In JCJH Eagles Victory Over Mattoon Middle School Wildcats

JCJH Eagles defeated Mattoon Middle School Wildcats 5-4 on Thursday thanks to a walk-off single. The game was tied at four with JCJH Eagles batting in the bottom of the seventh when Marli Michl singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Mattoon Middle School Wildcats scored four runs in the seventh inning, but JCJH Eagles still managed to pull out the victory. Kameron Lathrop, Blair Powers, and Hanna Griffin all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
JCJH Eagles fired up the offense in the first inning. An error scored one run for JCJH Eagles.
Avery Mulvey was credited with the victory for JCJH Eagles. Mulvey allowed eight hits and four runs over six and a third innings, striking out six and walking one. Amelia Collins threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Griffin took the loss for Mattoon Middle School Wildcats. Griffin went six and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out one.
Bailee Frichtl went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead JCJH Eagles in hits.
