The First National Bank of Olney held their groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, October 19 at the future site of their new location in Newton. The bank will be located next to the Cobblestone Hotel along IL 33 as you enter Newton.
During the groundbreaking ceremony Executive Director for the Jasper County Chamber of Commerce, Mark Bolander, City of Newton Mayor, and Brad Harmon, Chairman of the Board or Directors each spoke. With the damp weather, the group gathered under the Cobblestone porte cochère to listen to the speakers. The bank is projected to be open for business in June of 2021.
