Suzy Pilman, age 79, of Newton, Illinois, passed away 2:45 PM – Tuesday, July 02, 2019, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois. Funeral services celebrating Suzy’s life will be held at 10:30 AM – Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Central Christian Church in Newton, Illinois, with Mike Knepper officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Friday, July 5, 2019, at the church and ½ hour before the service. Dorothy Joann better known as “Suzy” was born on August 19, 1939, in Johnson County, Indiana, the daughter of Imogene Davis Stewart. She graduated from Center Grove High School in Johnson County, Indiana in 1957. On November 22, 1958, she married Lawrence Pilman at Bluff Creek Christian Church in Johnson County, Indiana. Suzy was a farmer’s wife and loving mother and grandmother. Her and Lawrence bought their farm in 1967, in Fox Township, in Jasper County started raising Holstein cattle in 1969. They milked cows till 1986, but continued to farm and raise cattle till they moved to Newton 1996.
Suzy was a member of the Central Christian Church in Newton, Illinois, Smallwood Home Extension and Ladies Bridge Club.
Suzy is survived by:
Husband of 60 years – Lawrence Pilman of Newton, Illinois Children – Rhonda (Jerry) Huddlestun, Terry (Paul) Will and David (Pam) Pilman all of Newton, Illinois
Grandchildren Erin (Lenny) Frichtl, Abby (Brock) Kessler, Ryan (Sarah) Will, Curtis (Tiffany) Will, Allison (Ryan) St Clair, Jacob (Megan) Pilman, Marcus Pilman, Jennifer (Cameron) Howard
Great-Grandchildren – Hayden and Hazel Frichtl, Corbin, Collin and Weston Will, Mara and Emma Pilman, Weiler, Fitch, Kane and Kamry Kessler. Brother – Charles (Judy) Stewart of Bargersville, Indiana
Suzy was preceded in death by her mother and father and mother-in-law Everett and
Iva Pilman.
