Thanks to everyone that participated in the Porkburger/Bratwurst Cookout at the Ambraw River Eagles on Saturday, June 22, 2019, to benefit BOOKS FOR BEGINNERS of Jasper County. Eagles’ President Gene Birch presented a $500 check to Marlene Harris, Martha Allison, Donna Richards, Kathy & Lorraine Yager, and Judy Millsap, all HCE representatives, for their BOOKS FOR BEGINNERS project, which provides a book for each kindergarten student in Jasper County. HCE members first go to the classrooms and read the book to each class , then present each student with their own book to take home. In addition, each teacher is presented a book for her classroom. At the June cookout, $68 was also collected in donations. Many THANKS to the Ambraw Eagles for heading this fundraiser for our kids and for their continued commitment to help others!
