The 8th annual St. Thomas Duck Race was another swimming success! 387 ducks floated to the finish
line!
The lucky ducks this year were:
1st place ($500): Kim Zuber
2nd place ($200): Nikki Bierman
3rd place ($100): Jack Schumacher/Mike Hartrich (tie)
The blue duck winner, who received a $50 gift card to a local store of their choice was: Brett
Woodard
Thanks to everyone who sponsored our race, had a duck in the race or just came out to watch
them swim to the finish line! We are especially thankful to the employees of the Peoples State
Bank and the Medicine Shoppe for selling ducks, Brad Benefiel for helping with scheduling and
being there that day, Cheryl Michl and the lifeguards at the Newton Aquatic Center for making
things start and run smoothly, our committee of St. Thomas families and Kuhl’s Trailer Sails and
Alan Buerster for helping with our lunch after the race! It was a fun day!
