At 4:26 pm on August 9th, the Jasper County dispatch received a call reporting a 46 year old male unresponsive in a residence on Ste. Marie Street in Newton, IL. The Jasper County Ambulance and City of Newton Police Department were called to the residence.
The male subject was transported by ambulance to Carle Richland Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly following his arrival. The City of Newton Police Department is investigating along with the Richland County Coroner, Jasper County Coroner, Illinois State Police CSI, and the Jasper County Sheriff.
An autopsy will be performed at a later date. More details will be released when available.
