From the City of Newton Police Department,
On October 26th during the late evening hours, the City of Newton Police Department received information about a possible threat that might have concerned Newton Community High School. The information was unclear as the school listed was “Jasper County High School”. There are several Jasper County and Newton combinations in the United States.
The Newton, IL police department was in contact with each of these areas that could have possibly been impacted. This threat was for October 27th. The City of Newton Police Department took additional measures on the 27th to ensure the safety of the students by following protocol for these situations.
