What made you decide this school was the best fit for you?

I decided ICC was the best school for me because when I took my visit I enjoyed the campus and the environment. I met with the coach and some of the players and really enjoyed the family feel. ICC volleyball has high level competition and that’s what I was looking for in a volleyball program. They also have a phenomenal history at the national level.

How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life?

The teachers at NCHS have taught me more than just academics. They have taught me life lessons that I will never forget. They have helped me manage my time and stay organized.

What are at least two life lessons you have learned from sports?

Our team motto this year was “Unity in Adversity” this stuck out to me because we had to find ways to come together and overcome the challenges we are faced with. This applies not only in volleyball but in life.  Another life lesson I learned was to work hard even when no one’s watching. In life, you may not be recognized for all the things you accomplish and achieve, but I’ve learned that you must put forth your best at all times, and eventually all your hard work will pay off.

How have your coaches (and assistant coaches) helped prepare you to play at a collegiate level?

My coaches have prepared me to play at the collegiate level by pushing me to be the best athlete I can be and always holding me accountable. Even when I feel like giving up, they have always reassured me and continued to push me. When I’m at my lowest they have picked me up and gave me confidence.

What will you miss the most next year about not being a Newton Eagle?

I will miss the friendships and special bonds the most. Newton Eagle volleyball was a second family to me and it will be hard to replace, but I am grateful that ICC has given me an opportunity to continue playing the game I love.
