Donald Lloyd Woods, age 70, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 7:30 AM – Thursday, February 17,
2022, surrounded by the love of his family, at his daughter’s home in Newton, Illinois.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time, per Don’s wishes. In loving memory of Don,
memorials may be mailed to Saved By Grace Animal Rescue, 13996 East 1000 th Ave, Newton,
Illinois 62448. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Donald Lloyd “Don” Woods, was born on December 11, 1951, in St. Clair County, East St. Louis, Illinois, the
son of Frederick Williams and Alma Mae (Phillipson) Woods.
Don worked for many years as a forklift driver at Stevens Industries in Teutopolis, Illinois. His knowledge on
so many things regarding coins and sports was amazing. Don was the St. Louis Cardinals #1 fan and was a
walking encyclopedia of all things related to the team. He was known as a collector, stamps, coins, baseball
cards, M&M’s to name a few. He enjoyed listening to his collection of records. He adored his little house dogs Woody, Cloe and Lollie. Don had a genuine love for his family and enjoyed time spent outdoors gathered around the fire pit.

(Steve) Jefferson of Troy, Missouri; Lisa Marie (Mark) Shook of Lawrenceville, Illinois; Bertha June “Bert”
(Tim) Jones of Newton, Illinois; Ruth Rana Howe of Newton, Illinois and Katrina Michelle (Johnny) Thornton
of Marion, Indiana
Siblings- Fred (Bonnie) Woods, Anna (Steve) Fink, Steve Woods, Penny Wright, David Woods, Bobby (Patty)
Woods and Kay (Todd) Watts
Brother-in-law- Ralph Wayne (Joyce) Barrick
Multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Ellen Woods, 3 children Robert Lee Nading, Cynthia
Jean Kirk and Billie Dawn and her husband Russ Williams, granddaughter Dorothy Stork, sister Dianna and her husband Bill White.
