Newton Family Life Center and Silk Purse

Newton, IL – Family Life Center in Effingham, IL is expanding their business to serve the Jasper/Richland county communities. It was announced in January that Family Life Center will be acquiring Dr. Wolf’s office located at 301 S Jackson St, Newton in late spring – early summer. They will start offering options
counseling and pregnancy testing at this location. According to Executive Director, Mary Hovis, she stated “We know there is a need in the area since we have several clients receiving services from this area.”
Another great addition to the community will be a Silk Purse Thrift Store that will be located in the old Burton-Einhorn building on the south end of town. Silk Purse Thrift Store offers affordable clothing and household goods. Thank you to the generous donation from CCI Ready Mix! We will begin remodeling
that location in April with the goal is to be open sometime this summer.
Newton Family Life Center is having a breakfast fundraiser on 3/19/22 from 7:30am-10:30am at the St Thomas Parish Center. The “Frozen” characters will be there and the kids can shop the Arendelle market for their favorite Frozen goodies. A free will donation will be collected and the online auction will launch at the breakfast. With over 75 items to bid on, we know it is going to be a great auction to support our mission.
Newton Family Life Center needed to raise $290,000 for this project and because of this generous community, we only have $97,000 to go! Please help us get the Moving Forward in HOPE project fully funded! To get involved, please visit our “Friends of Newton Family Life Center” Facebook page or call
