Peoples State Bank Bids Farewell to Teller at Newton Branch
Newton (March 09, 2022) – As February came to an end, so did the 38-year tenure of Alita Tharp, teller at the Newton Main Bank and Drive Up. Her retirement was marked by a reception and lunch, as well as many kind words from her colleagues.
“Alita will be greatly missed by her co-workers and customers alike,” said Stacy Moore, President of Peoples State Bank. “She has always gone above and beyond to offer a quick smile and friendly greeting and has been so helpful in many different areas of the teller line. 38 years is an amazing accomplishment and while we are sad to see her go, we are grateful for her service and wish her
nothing but the best!”
Although Alita was primarily a teller for Peoples State Bank, she also worked in accounting for a short time.
“It’s going to be difficult to replace Alita in the teller line. Customers love to see her and visit while they make deposits. She is definitely leaving big shoes to fill,” said Laural Ackerman, Teller Supervisor.
Peoples State Bank, the Board of Directors and all the staff would like to congratulate Alita on her retirement. She plans to spend extra time with her grandchildren and on her porch as much as possible.
