Makenna Kuhn, daughter of Adam and Janelle Kuhn, will portray an Aristocratic Lady in the NCHS musical production of Beauty and the Beast on April 7th through 10th.
What musicals have you been in at NCHS and what characters/roles did you play?
I have only been in Beauty and the Beast and I am in the ensemble.
What scene in Beauty and the Beast is your favorite and why? (This does not have to be a scene you are in)-
The closing scene is my favorite because everyone is on stage together one last time and it’s just a very happy moment.
What are two life lessons you have learned from the directors? (Jeffrey, Kristie, and Carrie)?
Everything is an audition. No matter what you’re doing, it’s an audition for something. They also thought me that how you practice is how you perform. So always practice your best.
Excluding the directors (Jeffrey, Kristie, and Carrie) What qualities do you see exemplified in the adults who help put on this show that you will take with you as you leave NCHS and how do they demonstrate these qualities? –
All of the set constructors and the people that have helped with costumes play such a big part in putting on the show. Without any one them there wouldn’t hardly be a show. They have volunteered so much of their time during practices and even outside of practice. They have put in so much work to help put on an amazing show.
What will you miss the most once the final curtain closes on your NCHS musical career?
I’m going to miss all of the new relationships that I have become a part of. Because I’ve never been in the musical before I didn’t really know a lot of these people that well and it was a little rough at first but over time I feel that we have all grown closer together and I’m grateful for that.
