D. Eileen Strole age 76, of Newton passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in her
home.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Eileen will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday,
May 17, 2022 at the First Baptist Church, Newton, Illinois with Rev. Steve Willis
officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, May
16, 2022 in the church. Burial will be in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery,
Newton, Illinois.
Eileen was born on August 31, 1945 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Ura Calvin
and Nina Pearl (Kibler) Swank. On April 17, 1964, Eileen married Rick Strole.
For many years, Eileen worked for Arlene Whitehurst at the Newton Flower Shop.
She later worked as a teller at the Peoples State Bank in Newton. She retired after
twenty-five years of service.
Eileen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newton. In her free time,
Eileen enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers and cooking. Together with Rick,
she liked eating out, traveling and spending the winter months in Florida. Eileen
was a member of the Supper Club, formerly the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Eileen will be loved and remembered by her husband of fifty-eight years Rick
Strole of Newton; son Todd Strole and wife Jill of Marine, IL; daughter Tiffany
Martinez and husband Bobby Brown of Centennial, CO; five grandchildren Adam
Strole and wife Amanda of San Jose, CA, Jacob Strole and Isaac Strole both of
Marine, IL and Beau Martinez and Estee Martinez both of Centennial, CO; great-
grandchild Xia’Mae Powell of Centennial, CO and step-grandchildren Phoenix
Brown and Raiden Brown of Centennial, CO.
Her parents preceded her in death.
