MS. JUDITH A. “JUDY” ADDIS, AGE 79

Ms. Judith A. “Judy” Addis, age 79 of Olney, IL and formerly of Newton, IL and Jasper County, IL died Wednesday June 8, 2022,at 11:17 PM at Newton Care Center in Newton, IL following years of failing health.

Born December 28, 1942, in North Muddy Township, Jasper County, IL the daughter of Tony W. and Floris L. (Weatherholt) Johnson.  

Judy had various jobs in her working career and always dealt with her dis-abilities and gave her very best to her employer, wherever she worked.  She was a member of Scott Avenue Christian Church in Newton IL.  Judy was baptized onSeptember 18, 2004, into her new Church Family and into God’s eternal family after joining Scott Avenue Christian Church January 27, 2002 and when she was physically able to attend, Judy enjoyed being in Church with like-minded Christians.

Judy is survived by a son, Tony Addis, Tennessee, a grandson, Ryan Addis; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Mary Johnson, Ingraham, IL; sisters, Mrs. Janice Cox, Effingham, IL, Ms. Nancy Johnson, Newton, IL; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Tanya Johnson, Wheeler, IL and Mrs. Ilene Johnson, Newton, IL along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Joe and Ronnie; brothers-in-law, Larry Cox and Kenneth Garry.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday June 21, 2022, at the Latona Church of Christ with Pastor Matt Scandrett officiating.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening June 21, 2022, from 5:30 PM until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at the Latona Church of Christ.  Interment will follow at a later time in the Trexler Cemetery, rural Newton, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to the Latona Church of Christ with envelopes available at the church.
