Vickie L. Dasenbrock, 67, of Effingham, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 25, 2022 at HSHS
St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A celebration of life will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Westside
Lounge in Newton, IL and also 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Elks Lodge in
Effingham, IL. Vickie wished to be cremated and have her ashes spread, along with her dog, Norman’s, in
the ocean off the coast of Mexico. Johnson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Memorials may be made to Effingham City Police Shop with a Cop or Saved by Grace Animal Rescue in

Vickie was born on October 27, 1954, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and Katherine (Baker)
Holmes. She married Tim Dasenbrock on October 18, 1996 and he survives.
Vickie had worked at Crossroads Bank for 26 years and delivered Meals on Wheels for 40 years. She
enjoyed yoga and instructed for over 20 years. Vickie owned and operated the Westside Lounge in
Newton, IL, alongside her husband, and it won’t be the same without her. There was never a dull
moment when Vickie was around. Vickie loved the sun and enjoyed trips to the beach. She could light up
the room and she didn’t know a stranger.
Vickie is survived by her husband, Tim Dasenbrock of Effingham; son, Aaron Lange (Erica) of Altamont;
grandchildren, Kyandra, Kolten, James, and Joanna; siblings, Peggy Beatty, Debbie Holmes (Connie), and
Beth Miller; several nieces and nephews; and her dogs, Marjorie and Sam.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Bart Beatty; and her 4-legged companion, Norman
Edgar.
