31 year old Hillary Robertson of Effingham has been charged in the Jasper County Circuit Court with three felonies (one class one and two class three) for falsifying records and billing the State of Illinois for over $10,000 of work not done.
Robertson has been charged by the Illinois Attorney General with one felony count of Vendor Fraud, punishable by up to seven years in prison, as well as one count of Official Misconduct, punishable by up to five years in prison, and one count of Forgery, punishable by up to five years in prison.
Robertson has allegedly created false entries into the Jasper County Health Department’s computer system documenting services she did not perform. These entries were then submitted to the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services which paid the Jasper County Health Department over $10,000 for services not rendered.
In a press release on 10/21/2022 “The Jasper County Health Department has been made aware of new criminal charges filed against a former Health Department employee. The Jasper County Health Department immediately notified the proper authorities once it became known that possible fraud had taken place, and has cooperated in the proceeding investigations. The Jasper County Health Department intends to continue its cooperation with Attorney General Raoul’s office in the upcoming criminal matter.”
