Lois Alberta (Winterrowd) Britton, age 90, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 10:44 AM – Saturday, December 17, 2022, at HSHS St Anthony’s Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM – Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois. Burial be in the Dieterich Village Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be held 1 before the service the service. In loving memory of Lois, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital. Lois was born on February 7, 1932, the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Williams) Winterrowd. She married Wayne “Pete” Britton on February 19, 1950, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 1988.
Lois had worked as a cook and had worked at the Illinois Glove Factory, Ettelbrick Shoe Factory and E.R. Moore Cap and Gown Factory.
Lois was a member of the Dieterich Christian Church and the ladiesauxiliary of the VFW and Dieterich American Legion. She enjoyed bowling, playing BINGO and cards and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Children – Emma Medford of Dieterich, Illinois; Esther Heuerman of Dieterich, Illinois and Mary Jane Britton (Edward Dotson) of Fairview, North Carolina
Grandchildren – Paul (Linda) Heuerman, Eric Heuerman, Christine (Ethan) Brooks, Hollis (Joni) Medford, Chad (Jody) Britton, Kevin Medford, Matt (Stacy) Welter, Amy Welter and Wesley (Ashima) Thomas

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchildren Jeff Medford and Tiffaney Britton, siblings Gene (Joann) Winterrowd, Elsie (Glen) Riblet, Charles Winterrowd, Margie Winterrowd, Phyllis Winterrowd, Frank (Mary) Winterrowd and Lovell Winterrowd, brothers-in-law Jerome Green and Donald Boldrey.
