Job Description
Job Title: Data Entry Clerk – Three days a week (not including any training)
$18 per hour
8:00 am to 4:00 pm

SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Chief Managing Officer, this position is responsible for
entering data, organizing, storing, and analyzing data and data systems for all facets of the
Probation Department. This position will ensure that all of this is always done with the utmost
security and confidentiality and in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Managing all incoming and outgoing data files
Create spreadsheets to track important client information and orders.
Update client information in a database.
Organize existing data in a spreadsheet.
Verify outdated data and make any necessary changes to records.
Operate common office equipment.
Provide occasional administrative support.
Review data for deficiencies or errors.
Assist with special projects that require data entry.
Provide data entry support across to other employees
Type in data quickly and efficiently.
Prepare and submit data reports for the County and State
Completes assigned tasks that may or may not be directly related to data preparation or data
analysis but are required of the Probation Department for proper functioning. Examples:
Emergency data requests for the judiciary, etc. on probation programs or operations.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must a) be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily, b) comply with the personnel policies of Jasper County, c) comply with the
Policies Governing Hiring, Promotion and Training of Illinois Probation and Court Services
Personnel and d) comply with the Code of Professional Conduct for the Fourth Judicial Circuit
Probation/Court Services employees. The requirements listed below are representative of the
knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Experience working in data management within the criminal justice field preferred. Ability to
pass an extensive criminal background check.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Minimal computer skills including word processing capabilities using the Probation
Department’s current program(s). Must be proficient in Excel. Training on Probation software
will be provided.
