Jacob Wickham, son of Kevin and Erin Wickham, will be attending Vincennes University as a part of the track and field team. During his time at NCHS, Jacob was an active participant in activities including football, track, and FFA.
What made you decide this school was the best fit for you?
Vincennes University had great atmosphere with lots opportunities for me in the Ag business field. I also connect with the coaching staff and their program.
How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life?
NCHS has given me my foundation with our ag program to start my career in Ag business. It has also given me support both academically and athletically to be able to sign with Vincennes University.
What are at least two life lessons you have learned from sports?
Never say never to anything. You have to keep an open mind to try new things.
Don’t cut yourself short from a goal you have set. Keep trying and accepting help to reach it.
How have your coaches (and assistant coaches) helped prepare you to play at a collegiate level?
My coaches have taught me that if you give your very best there is nothing to be ashamed of. When I had some rough meets I was always able to learn from it and come back stronger.
What will you miss the most next year about not being at NCHS?
My teammates and the atmosphere that I had the privilege of being a part of.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Thank you NCHS for making this next chapter of my life possible.
