Brayden Line, son of Doug Line and Jamee Line, will be showcasing his artistic talents at the Newton Public Library from March 10 through the 31st of March.
When did you first become interested in art?
I would have to say when my dad would show me his artwork. I thought they were cool I would draw alot as a kid. I took art classes in middle school and in high school.
Describe to me your favorite piece of art, please, and why it is your favorite.
My favorite piece of art has to be my first Bob Ross painting. There are many reasons why it is my favorite like how I did in in high school with the materials given to me. Or that it got first place in a art competition in the high school and in our district. If it wasn’t for Covid, it would have gone to state but I’m still happy that it got that far.
What are your favorite medium and your favorite subjects? Why?
My favorite medium is acrylic paint. The flow of the paint brush is great and when the piece is finished, it is satisfying. My favorite subject has to landscape painting. I am no master at it but learning from Bob Ross has helped and painting a landscape is fun, if you know what you are doing.
What would you like to do after high school?
After high school, I would like to go into the engineering field. If that doesn’t go to plan, I would also be interested in a career in band or even art.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
One great story of my art is when I was in kindergarten. Our teacher read a book and it led to me drawing on a piece of paper. Mind you it was maybe 2009, but my great grandma loved the picture and hung on the wall with some ordinary scotch tape. To this day, it’s still on the wall and only I know the meaning of it. Everyone who looks at always questions of what’s even happening in and I always say, it was from a book.
