The Newton Eagles defeated both the Flora Wolves and the Fairfield Mules. The Eagle won with a final score of 8-2. The Eagles shutout the Mules in four with a final score of 14-0.
The Eagles scored two in the first inning starting strong with Gage Reynolds driving in two on a double. In the third inning, Reynolds doubles on a fly ball to right bringing in Isaac Flowers. In the bottom of the third, Flora scored one. At the top of the fourth, Peyton Harris scores on a single by Dylan Gier Flora scores their final run of the game in the bottom of the fourth. . The Eagles put up four more in the sixth inning. Gus Bierman scores on a line drive by Owen Mahaffey. Dalton Baltzell scores on line drive by Carder Reich and Mahaffey scores when a pitch hits Reynolds.
Brandon Einhorn earned the win for the Eagles. He surrendered two runs on three hits over five innings, striking out six. Logan Ochs threw two innings in relief.
