Lloyd Dale Shamhart, age 87

Lloyd Dale Shamhart, age 87, formerly of Troy, Illinois, and Urbana, Illinois, passed away at 6:19 PM – Monday, October 30, 2023, at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:30 to 1:00 PM – Sunday, November 5, 2023, at the Potter’s House of Ministry, 1 Kennedy Drive, Newton, Illinois. A service celebrating Lloyd’s life will be held at 1:00 PM, with Ron Mulvey officiating. There will be a meal following the service at the church. A private family burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery, west of Latona, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Webber Street Christian Church, 107 S. Lloyd was born on January 18, 1936, in Onarga, Illinois, the son of Dale and Daisy (Bryan) Shamhart. He married Laura B. Staley on March 3, 1957, at Falmouth Church of Christ, and she preceded him in death on October 16, 2018.
Lloyd served his country in the United States Army May 14, 1957, until his honorable discharge on April 30, 1959.
Lloyd retired from AT&T after 30 years of service as an electronic technician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, camping with wife and friends, and was very active in his church.
