Jaden A. Budde Sentenced on Several Charges Including Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 13, 2023

According to Jasper County State’s Attorney, James S. Treccia, an Effingham County man was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections pursuant to an agreement presented to Judge Kevin S. Parker in court on December 12, 2023. Jaden A. Budde, age 20, was sentenced to a total of 25 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the crimes of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a child, Class X felony, Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer, Class 2 felony, and Threatening a Public Official, Class 3 Felony. He was also sentenced to concurrent terms in the Illinois Department of Corrections for 7 years for Child Pornography, Class X felony and 5 years for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, Class 2 felony. According to Treccia, Budde was arrested following an investigation from the Newton Police Department into the various sex crimes Budde had committed. The child sex abuse material was later located on the phone that had been collected from Budde during his arrest. While in pre-trial custody in the Jasper County Jail, Budde committed the additional crimes of Aggravated Battery to a peace officer after repeatedly striking and spitting on a Newton City Police Officer while he aided Jasper County Corrections Officials in moving Budde to a new cell. Budde later then threatened to stab one of the Corrections Officers during an altercation at the jail.

States Attorney, James S. Treccia, commended the Newton Police Department for their thorough investigation as well as the Jasper County Corrections officials that had to often deal with the violent outbursts of Budde while he was detained before his eventual sentence to the Department of Corrections. He also commented that he hopes that the victims and their families can find some solace in the resolution.
